Fueled by strong business growth rooted in the success of its cutting-edge Direct Jet UV LED small-format flatbed inkjet printer line, Direct Color Systems® (DCS) has announced a significant expansion to its international headquarters in Central Connecticut.
DCS will now occupy an additional 11,000 square feet at 99 Hammer Mill Road in Rocky Hill, Conn. The company – a world leader in engineering, manufacturing and marketing small-format, direct-to-substrate flatbed, roll media and thermal ribbon badge printers – will use the new space for an expansion of its inventory management and manufacturing lines, allowing it to continue to reduce lead times for new equipment orders. The company's R&D and administrative operations will continue to operate out of this location.
Overseas, DCS continues to expand the support team in its Europe, Asia and Africa office with the hiring of Carlos Achando as the company's EAA Service and Support Engineer. Achando has spent the last 15 years as a field engineer in the graphic arts industry, providing installation, service and support for a wide variety of printing devices and overseeing software color control and management for a diverse set of applications. He is well versed in several different RIPs and graphics applications in both Mac and Windows environments.
In addition to its Porto, Portugal-based EAA office, DCS has distributors in more than 30 different countries around the world. Thousands of DCS printers have been placed into service internationally since the company was founded in 1995.
